3 Day Gorilla safari

Itinerary Overview

This is the one you came for. Three days. Two nights. One hour that will echo through your entire life. You’ll leave the noise behind, trek into the misty mountains of Bwindi, and come face to face with a mountain gorilla family. Short on time. Infinite on soul.

DAY 1

Arrival → Bwindi; Into the Mist
You land at Entebbe or Kigali (many choose Kigali for a shorter drive). Your Agaca Tours guide greets you with a warm smile. Then begins the journey; winding roads, emerald hills, children waving as you pass. By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The forest breathes beside you. Tonight, sleep comes with dreams of silverbacks.

DAY 2

Bwindi → The Day Everything Changes
Wake before dawn. Your heart is already pounding. After a quick breakfast, you meet your ranger at the park headquarters. He assigns you a gorilla family the Mubare, the Rushegura, the Nkuringo. Then you step into the mist-covered jungle. The trek could be two hours or five; but every step builds the story. Vines grab your boots. The air is thick with earth and moss. Then the tracker’s radio crackles. Your guide whispers, “They’re close.” You push through the last leaves. And there he is; a silverback, chewing a thistle, looking up as if he’s been expecting you. For one sacred hour, you watch them play, nap, groom, and stare right into your soul. No words prepare you. You return to your lodge walking on air.

DAY 3

Bwindi → Home; The Long Goodbye
One last misty sunrise. Breakfast with the forest view. Then you drive back to the airport; Entebbe or Kigali. The hills roll past, but your mind is still in that jungle. At the airport, your guide hugs you goodbye. You carry gorilla eyes in your chest. And you already know: this was not a trip. This was a homecoming.
