3 Day Sipi Falls safari

Itinerary Overview

You’ll feel it before you see it; a cool mist on your face, a distant rumble in the air. Sipi Falls is not one waterfall but three, tumbling 100 meters down ancient volcanic cliffs. This is where you trade safari vehicles for hiking boots, where the soundtrack is crashing water and laughing farmers, and where you’ll taste the best arabica coffee of your life. Three days. Pure elevation.

DAY 1

Arrival → Sipi Falls; The First Mist
You land at Entebbe or (for a shorter drive) fly to Jinja or Mbale. Your Agaca Tours guide greets you. The drive east takes you through endless sugarcane fields, then up, up into the cool highlands of Mount Elgon. By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge; perched on a ridge, with the falls already humming in the distance. Check in, breathe the crisp mountain air, and watch the sun sink behind the valleys. Tonight, sleep to the lullaby of falling water.

DAY 2

Sipi Falls → Three Cascades, One Heart
After breakfast, you meet your local guide; a farmer who knows every root and ridge. You begin the three‑waterfall hike. First, the lower fall; a 75‑meter veil of white, accessible through banana groves. Then the middle fall, hidden behind rocks where the spray paints rainbows. Finally, the main event: the 100‑meter Sipi Falls itself. You stand at its base, mist cooling your face, thunder filling your chest. After the hike, a local family welcomes you for a coffee tour. You pick red cherries from the tree. You roast them over a fire. You grind them by hand. And you taste the freshest, most honest cup of coffee you’ve ever known. Late afternoon is yours; optional abseiling down the main fall (if you’re bold) or simply sitting on your lodge deck, watching the light change. Tonight, a traditional Sabiny dance under the stars.

DAY 3

Sipi Falls → Entebbe; The Long Goodbye
One last sunrise behind the falls. Breakfast with a view of Mount Elgon’s ancient crater. Then you drive back to Entebbe (or to Mbale for a connecting flight). The hills roll past, but your mind is still at that waterfall base, still tasting that coffee, still hearing the rhythm of village laughter. At the airport, your guide hugs you goodbye. You carry mist on your face and arabica on your tongue. And you already want to come back.
